Ilig sang Kabuhi: An Art Exhibit in support of National Breastfeeding Month

 

SM City Iloilo together with its local partners Breastfeeding Ilonggas, Rotary Club of Midtown Iloilo, Philippine Pediatric Society Western Visayas and Iloilo City Government launched Art with a Heart exhibit for breastfeeding mothers as part of the National Breastfeeding Month.



Dubbed as Ilig sang Kabuhi was participated by Himbon members namely John Ernie Acedera, Gina Apostol, Brando Banga, Gerundio Buendia Jr., Alan Cabalfin, Eros Endencio, Vic Fario, Rachelle Acla Kim, Gilbert Labordo, Nick Lanes, Vic Nabor, Alex Ordoryo, Carol Salvatierra, Roneal Torres and Althea Villanueva. An on the spot live art sketching of breastfeeding moms was also part of the event.




"We aim to raise awareness on the benefits of breastfeeding and the beauty of a mother’s journey with her child. We hope that in doing so, we are able to positively influence acceptance of breastfeeding by mothers as a means to nourish their children, in support of the UN Sustainable Development Goals targeting Zero Hunger, Good Health and Well-being" said Engr. Gilbert Domingo, MALL Manager of SM City Iloilo as he welcome guests to the event.





"At SM Supermalls, we say that “You’re Always Welcome Here”, and we show that “SM Cares” by supporting the individual choices that a mother may make, with regard to her health and breastfeeding preference. We hope that you will also welcome the different interpretations of motherhood and the lasting connections built from breastfeeding that are reflected in the artworks you will see today. " added Engr. Domingo.




Visit the exhibit at the North Point Event Center. This will run from August 8-22, 2022.
